What happens to my solar panels if I move?

What happens to my solar panels if I move?

We understand that you may not be in your home for 20 years. Most solar loan, lease and PPA providers can help you transition your agreement over to the new owner of your home, subject to the new owner fulfilling credit requirements, or allow you to prepay your contract on reasonable terms. If you prepay your contract, you would own the solar system in full.  Recent studies by the Department of Energy have shown that homes with solar panels sell for more than similar homes without solar panels. The home value increase is usually commensurate with the investment made in solar panels. So, even if your prepay your solar loan, lease or PPA, you will likely recoup the solar investment through a higher sale price of your home. Win Win!
